I'm Alive!

Well, I had my surgery last thursday. I'm in a cast and sling until at least this thursday. I have an appointment to get the stitches out. I'm still pretty sore and I'm going crazy not being able to do ANYTHING for myself. Michael has been taking great care of me. So, I owe him a big thank you!!! I'm going back to work tomorrow. Hopefully that goes ok. Honestly, and you are allowed to laugh, I am most nervous about being able to go to the bathroom. Buttons and zippers and such are not my friends these days!! Maybe I'll just wear skirts until my cast is off. We'll see. Well, typing with my left hand is annoying, so this is all I'm writing for now.

Guten Tag!

I am in Garmisch, Germany right now. This is the most beautiful place I have seen. I am definitely trying some new things. I have tried leg of lamb, that was ok, definitely not as good as rack of lamb. Today for lunch I tried Bovarian goulash (not sure how to spell that). That was good. Oh, they have THE BEST apple streudel! Mmm, it was so good! I took my first taxi today. And I attempted to learn to drive a stick shift. I only killed it once, so I guess I didn't do too horrible. I had to drive it on the windy roads up the side of the mountain to the hotel though, that made me nervous! I've done some shopping, got a coat, boots and a pair of earrings (they are very pretty). I also did some christmas shopping for my family. Here are some of the pictures I've taken, I will add more later.

Below is a picture of a Restaurant we ate at on Monday night. I tried leg of lamb.

All of the buildings here are decorated with painted designs. You can see it here with the picture of the hunters and the designs around the windows. It is amazing how they make these buildings look.

This is one of the buildings we saw as we were walking around Garmisch. This particular building has beautiful wood work, it's hard to see in this picture, but there are designs in the wood around the windows. The painting on the building is also very neat.

Surgery

Remember that car accident I got in back in December? Well, I'm having surgery because of it on October 26th. I went to physical therapy right after the accident for my right elbow and we thought things were going to be ok. But then I noticed my fingers going numb and having limited movement. So, I had to go back and they did a nerve study and found some damage. We tried a couple prescriptions and I quit pitching (which sucks because I absolutely love pitching and was starting to throw pretty good again). Nothing has worked, so they are going to move the nerve in my elbow. This sounds very unpleasant and I'm not looking forward to it. But, if I wait, I risk having permamant damage. The doctor doing the surgery is the same one who did my wrist and should surgeries back in high school. So, I have all the confidence in the world in him, but I'm still nervous. I'll probably write updates after my surgery, but for now, wish me luck!

3) How many houses have you lived in? I've lived in 10 different houses/apartments. I've moved 8 times since the first time I moved out of my parents. In a couple months I will be moving again!

7) Least favorite school subject? Geography - I am still horrible when it comes to geography - I am going to Germany and couldn't even point it out to you on a globe

New Happenings!

Well, it's official, Maxeen and I will be moving in to an apartment together. Unfortunately the building we'll be moving in to isn't done being built yet, won't be done til January. So, we're going to be staying at a friend's place until then. But, I'm VERY excited about our new place. I am excited about going on my trip from the 14th thru the 21st. I'm getting very anxious for that. But, I really don't like to fly, so I'm still nervous, it's going to be a LONG flight. I have a couple books I'm in the middle of though, so maybe I'll get them finished on the flights. That's wishful thinking though, I'll probably sleep through most of it. I'm going to a Husker game with my Dad tomorrow. We're driving to ISU. That should be a lot of fun. I love my dad, he's awesome. Then Sunday I have 2 pitching lessons and 3 softball games (to coach). So, I have a very sports themed weekend. Should be a fun weekend. A friend of mine was just in the hospital, so I want to wish her a get well message. Hope you're doing better and that everything goes well for you and the baby! Ok, I'm done babbling for today.
