The Many Sides of our Relationship

In the past couple weeks Michael and I have had two amazing weekends but as I reflect on the details, it definitely shows that we like a very wide variety of things. A couple weeks ago Michael text me after work and told me to go home and change and meet him downtown, no questions or details. So I got myself cleaned up and met him at a parking lot downtown. He was there waiting for me, paid for my parking and then met me with a Yellow rose. Then we walked down the street to Omaha Prime (and for those of you that don't know, this is a very, very nice restaurant). As the host walked us to our table I saw the very large bouquet of flowers waiting at the table for me. They were beautiful!!! We then have a very nice dinner and a bottle of wine. After dinner we walk out of the restaurant and there is a horse a carriage waiting for us, and to top it off, it was the Cinderella carriage. We took a ride downtown, it was a very nice night out, perfect for it. So that was definitely a night fit for a princess. Then this past weekend, up until this morning, we hooked up the camper and camped out at Two Rivers. We went through 16 bundles of firewood and lots of wood that Michael decided to play lumberjack and cut up from the trees behind the camper. We reeked from the fire, ate burgers and marshmallows all weekend and just sat around the campfire with no tv or luxuries and it was perfect! It was definitely not like our fancy date night out downtown, but we enjoyed it just the same. So, I would definitely say "For Richerer or Poorer" holds true for us, we are happy together in any situation.

Yeah!!!

SOOOO.... I can finally make my announcement. I have been waiting until all the appropriate parties have been informed of the news before posting on the far too public website. Michael and I are engaged!!! We'll be getting married next year. The place, dresss, cake and flowers are all set. We know what caterer we want to go with and what DJ, just need to get in touch with them to set that up. My mother has been great, we've had so much fun planning the wedding. Michael has played his parts as well and I've been trying to get his input on as much as possible. Doing all the planning so far in advance really helps, it's not stressful at all. And the most fun part of all, Michael and I went to our first dance lesson last night. We were offered a free lesson to try it out and we had so much fun we signed up for more lessons. We had an absolute blast and actually danced very well for a first lesson. The instructor even said she's going to skip ahead a few lessons with us, unlike most of her beginners. So that was pretty cool. Softball has been going well. The girls are looking good and have amazing attitudes! I got my batting cage net up in my building and got the pitching machine. We'll be using that for the first time tonight. Things are going very well.
