First

So, I had my first pitching lesson in my new building! Woohoo! I don't have all the netting up, but I do have a big net behind the catcher. That worked out perfect. It was just so nice to be in my own place. This also was my first time working with this pitcher. She did pretty well. Hopefully I'll get the net up this weekend (I'm waiting for it to be delivered). My dad and Michael put the carpeting in on Sunday this past weekend. I was there, but wasn't much help. It's amazing how just a little carpet changes the whole look of the place. Now I just need to get in there and clean the bathroom, it's pretty gross. We're thinking about getting some cheap tile and putting that in the bathroom to finish it off. It definitely needs something. I have a lot of ideas for the place, but am going to keep it simple at first, not get overwhelmed with the look of the place and worry more about the function of it first. But, I am super excited about getting it and look forward to less drive time!!!

Weekend

So, I know it's Wednesday and I'm just now writing about my weekend, but you'll get over it. Better late than never! So, last weekend my team I coach had a tournament in Lincoln. Michael and I pulled the camper out there Friday evening and camped all weekend. The weather was beautiful! The tournament started Saturday morning, that game was a little rough. We played a very good team, far more experienced than our girls. Then we went back to the campsite and had a cookout. We had a fairly decent turn out, some of the girls chose to go back to Omaha between games because we had a big gap between. We had two more games on Saturday, the first of those was much like the first of the day, another very good team. But, before our 3rd game of the day we had a talk with the girls and told them we know they are not playing to their potential. I told them they needed to start believing in themselves like we believe in them. The players got together and had a talk with just them (no coaches), so between all that and the fact that it was a team more on our level, the girls came out playing much better! They got really in to the game and made some great hits. Even the last inning the girls started hitting the ball and we had bases loaded but couldn't get in a run. On Sunday they played even better. Two girls had triples and we had our first double play of the season. Unfortunately we lost 4-2, but it was by far our best game of the year so far. They are proving they can make the plays and are gaining confidence. They are all fired up for our games tonight. One of our teams is a team we played last week. The team beat us last week, but the girls know they are a completely different team than they were last week and they are telling me how they think we are going to beat them. This was great to hear! So, I'm looking forward to seeing how we play tonight, should be a fun couple games.

Rain, Rain Go Away!

OK, so I know I'm always saying I love the rain, but enough is enough! I like rain in moderation. My team was supposed to play in a tournament this weekend, but both Saturday and Sunday was rained out. I was really looking forward to seeing how they did in this tournament. But, I guess mother nature had other plans. They are calling for a chance of rain today and tomorrow as well. They were talking about it for the entire week and next weekend, but now it's looking like it may stay dry after tomorrow. I hope it stays that way, camping and softball are on the agenda for this coming weekend. This past weekend was a complete washout. I'm so on the go all the time that it was nice to have the pace slow down and have a relaxing weekend. Michael and I spent the weekend together and it was really nice. Dinner with my mom and step dad and going to there house was fun too. It ended up being a good weekend despite the cancellation. One of my girls Brittany was going to find a sunshine dance to help the rain go away, so let's hope she did a good job and it stays away for our tournament this weekend! Oh, I have exciting news. I'm signing a lease today for my indoor softball building. I'm sooo excited about it! I'm nervous about the financial commitment, but I think it will work out good. It's going to be awesome to have my own building for my pitching lessons and I'll have a batting cage in there for the team to use. I'm supposed to be getting the key to it this Thursday. Yay!
